TCL Tankers

Yorkshire Water manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water throughout Yorkshire, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. They collect, treat and dispose of about one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment and are one of the biggest companies in Yorkshire.

As part of their daily duties, they operate around 60 tankers - consisting of both vacuum and emergency drinking water tankers - and call upon TCL Tankers for reliable support in the design, construction, supply and hire of units. This long-standing working relationship has been extremely successful over many years due to the ability of TCL to adapt to customer needs and the way their fleets operate.

Specifications of tanker and equipment are to Yorkshire Water\'s demanding requirements, whether on purchased or hired units, and this can include items such as specially designed water-cooled pumps on vacuum tankers giving flow rates of up to 820 m3/hr. Tankers supplied are six- and eight-wheeled variants, in both rigid vehicles and articulated trailers. Most are 30,000 litre in capacity and all are manufactured in stainless steel, a material demanding particular design and construction techniques, a speciality of TCL.

Stainless steel tanks although more expensive, provide the benefit of a lighter more durable tank with the advantage of greater design flexibility under the latest regulations.

The TCL design ensures a high degree of reliability and reduces vehicle down time. Hiring of tankers also gives the flexibility to cope with temporary increases in demand without the need to increase capital expenditure. 

All new, modified and hire tankers are rigorously tested, meeting industry safety standards and are fully certified.
